String Instruments
The Acoustic Guitar these are normally made out of wood and are hollow and produce very pleasant sounds via the strings, there are many types of acoustic guitars such as classical, steel top, arch top and resonator, you will see these types when looking at buying an acoustic guitar and the classical being a very good guitar for beginners .
The Fiddle being very similar to that of a violin and is used for many dance routines and is much easier to play than a violin
The Harp has colour coded strings and run vertically and is seated behind the body. Its design is of an S shape at the top going into a V either side
The Cello is a large instrument with 4 strings and part of the violin family and played with a bow
The Double Bass is the largest of the string family instruments and has the lowest pitch, they are made out of wood and can be played with a bow or ny plucking the strings
The Banjo is a stringed instrument with a circular body and a thin neck , the classical banjo has 4-5 strings but some have six and these ones are played like a guitar. Banjo music is associated with country and western music
The Ukulele is similar to that of a guitar , A stringed instrument normally played by the bare thumb and comes in different sizes
The Viola is held under the chin, resting on the shoulder and is very similar to that of violin , but bigger with lower notes
The Violin the most used of string instruments has very high sounds four strings and is played via a bow
The Zither has five strings and is stretched over a finger board and produces mellow guitar sounds and come in many shapes and size.
